Another booklet

A few days ago I told you about my first folded book and how much I loved it. Because of that I had to give it another go. This time the cover is from an old shirt of my husband. The two kinds of grey wallpaper and the metal pieces added, at least for me, to a male feeling.

Overall things worked out just fine and I'm happy with the result.

Enjoy your weekend!

Another idea became reality

Just before I went on holiday I had this idea but it had to wait til I returned. It is a "book" that folds out. In it are three pieces, one with ripped paper and a piece of nålebinding with very crude wool, one with pinpricked paper woven with the same wool and the last one is cut paper with some needlelace on top. All of it is put on one large piece of paper that folds into three.

Another contrast is added by backing it with handwoven vintage linen. The cord is made with my snoregaffel (lucet) and a button to finish it off. This piece of vintage linen fitted absolutely perfectly as a contrast, gives has such a fantastic used feeling to it.

Thanks for stopping by.

A shirt of memories X

Yes, I'm back in town. The last three weeks I was in Sweden on our annual camping trip. It was glorious. Hiking, swimming in the lake and visiting the house's of three famous Swedish artists: Anders Zorn, his Gopsmore cottage and Zorngården in Mora and Lilla Hyttnäs, the house of Carl and Karin Larsson in Sundborn.

I'm still in the process of looking at pictures and publishing them on Flickr. Therefore I only have a link to the album of the Gopsmore cottage of Anders Zorn. Probably by the end of the week the rest of the pictures you will be able to find there too.

Time to start hanging out with my needle again.
