Focus on cloth

My love for helleristninger isn't new, therefore a boat had to be on this cloth to make sure I travel safely through this project. Stemstitch is used for the upper and lower line. For the rest of the boat I used wrapped thread to give it a more organic look, the little circle is crocheted ofcourse.

I really like this collage because so much information is coming together. Nörköping was a textile city and it was a Dutch business man who started it. His name was Louis de Geer and therefore there is a large statue of him in the centre of town. There are also thousands of helleristninger in Sweden and now one is recreated on cloth by a Dutch woman, all tied together neatly ... :-)

Enjoy your weekend.
