Monday's music

Today has been one big rolling river of preparations which made me forget about the start of our week. But now it's time to relax and listen to some nice music and so I share this with you. Oh, and Maggi, you better close your curtains before you start the video. Just in case any neighbour walks by!

Have a fabulous week filled with sunshine, enjoy your summer.

A special post for Mrs. Crocodile

This video was made because I found it impossible to explain in words without any visuals to Mrs. Crocodile, who kept asking and being curious. The long tie in the video measures 1 mtr and 48 cm, from such a long tie one can make a ???? which measures about 14 cm.

Wouldn't mind if anyone could come up with a name for my ????

So my dear Mrs. Crocodile, hope I answered some of your questions. Probably I forgot something which you will tell me tonight!

Have a fabulous day!

Monday's music

Today I have a really special video for you, made by yours truly at a Beatles concert at the school of my boys last week. A Beatles-night was organized for the parents of grade 4,5 and 6. All the kids performed in at least one song and they are between 10 and 12 years old. The young man in the video is Jesper, he had the only solo-song called Hey Jude.

(At some point you hear the sound but see a lot of movement with my camera, that's because I had to climb onto a chair to make sure that I still could capture it.)

I really enjoyed it and I hope you did too. Have a splendid week filled with sunshine and laughter.

Some time ago I bought an old tablecloth with a faded border. Today I removed this border partly from the cloth and as you can see this gave me three shades of blue and the cloth gave me also some off white. I was really happy with this and so I started making buttons. This is the harvest of today and I think more will follow because it was great fun making them!

Enjoy your creative projects.

My lucet and me

Two days ago another batch of video's arrived. Karen was talking happily about her Doodle Doo-ledger and how she was thinking about letting appear something from under the paper. At that moment a bolt of lightning hit me involving my lucet and a tie. Does this make any sense to you? Probably not.

On the left you see my lucet. In the middle you see a woollen cord made with the lucet. And on the right you see my latest "invention".  Maybe you don't understand my excitement, which is totally ok, but I'm over the moon and have already some other ideas to try out.

Have to get back to work! See you later.

Despite being away

While away I kept on reading in this book and this made me make even more pictures. So here we go again, :-)

 An old loom
  Samples of cross-stitching

 Beautiful bonnets

White work which reminded me of Karen.

Handmade  stockings which I had to photograph since they were so beautiful.
All these pictures were taken at the Holbæk museum.

A different kind of loom in the Roskilde Vikingcenter
Old parts of a loom long gone.

Old needles

At the Roskilde cathedral there were several handmade coffindrapes.
As you probably notice, I'm aware of handmade stuff all the time!

Have a great day exploring your surroundings and I'll keep on reading in my book.

Been away for a few days

Yes, I did cross the bridge again to visit Devil's isle. This is the "nickname" of Sjælland. Time to take you on a very quick tour around.

The first night we went to Maglesø to stretch our legs for a bit and I had to snap a picture or ....

Ofcourse we had a museum scheduled on our busy program. This is picture is taken in Holbæk museum.

Now what would I do on a holiday without being at least for a little while on the beach?

When a jættestue is just around the corner, we ofcourse have to swing by. This one was in Birkehøj and has a chamber of 11 mtrs.

And ofcourse one of my favourite museums had to be visit too. Roskilde vikingcenter is a beautiful place and so worth visiting.

Than there were ofcourse tons of lovely, charming old houses to photograph.

The Cathedral of Roskilde had to be visited too since it is on the Unesco-list and we hadn't visited it yet!

Why drive would one drive straight home, when a little de-tour brings you to Trellenborg in Slagelse?

But after that it was time to cross the bridge again. Time to go home again. If you want to see more pictures you're welcome to visit me here.

Have a wonderful day!
