Something old

Sometimes it is difficult to let go some old piece of clothing especially since it travelled to Bornholm, Germany, Norway, Sweden, The Netherlands with you and lived in Denmark for a little over two years. It might be worn to rags with holes in it and a broken zipper but still it has a dear place in ones heart. At least this is how my big boy feels about his old red cardigan. Before he was ready to discard it as a piece of clothing, a new red cardigan had to be bought!

It is therefore I made him this little pillow, an instant hit with my thirteen year old teenager!

Do you have more ideas for recycling old clothes since I still have two sleeves to turn into something special?

Have a wonderful week.

What a wonderful way to recycle and keep the memory of a favourite cardigan can be very difficult to part with a favourite piece of clothing :)

Being real fond of an old piece of garment is a very sympathic trait of character, I think - and turning it into a very special pillow is a great idea too, dear Elizabeth!

I sometimes use cut-off sleeves as handwarmers, but they could of course also be used as an extension of other sleeves, which have grown too short. Or maybe they're long enough to make a shawl? Or (sewn together on the broad side) a cap? Tube socks?

A wonderful way to keep an old friend close by.
