Have been searching high and low to find a song that would make us smile. Nothing gave me that something special until I found the song in the video below. The good thing is, it helps us too to start making our Christmas wishlist.
Today an update on my vinegar-project. As you can see in the left part of the picture there is definitely a difference in colour. So the question does the colour of the peel influence the colour of the vinegar the answer is yes. Now for the sake of experimenting I added new red peels to the pinky vinegar just to see if the vinegar will get stronger.
The right part of the picture might be even more exciting. You have to look closely but when you look you see a white line from top to bottom. This line is more or less transparant and therefore I had to use some photographic tricks to make if more visible for you. In dutch it is called a moer, still have to find the english translation but that can wait, since I have a waiting period ahead of me again.
Another update on the second clothposter and although I can see that I'm almost have way I have the feeling I just started. The strange thing is that I need more protection around my fingers, still have to get used to the softness of the fabric. Still it is a lot of fun writing down words with a backstitch and I already know that I love this piece.
A very sneak preview of a new project. After all the jeans-projects it is time to dive into something new, something soft, something like a clothposter. You probably remember the first clothposter of the serie Courtship, for the love of it, more pictures you can see here.
This time the clothposter will contain a random set of words which are reminders of stories of my past, the present and hopes for the future. Since blue is still my all time favorite colour, the thread is blue. Yes I know I'm full of surprises!
Time to start working again. Enjoy yourself with all the special projects you are creating.
As soon as August comes around I feel like making my vinegars again so that I have some sunshine during the winter. This year I decided to start really totally from scratch. Never made any vinegar from scratch before and therefore I started reading and reading a little bit more. Some information showed lenghty processes while the book you see in the picture made it as easy as it could be.
I had to give it a try. I peeled the apples, put it in the jar, poured over some water and left it for 3 weeks. Yes, that's the method and magically vinegar appeared. It is no balsamico by any means but the fun I have while trying makes up for that. I used very green apples for this experiment. Next time I want to find deep red apples and see if that influences the colour and taste of the vinegar.
Did you ever made your own vinegar from scratch? If yes, please share.
Since I have been complaining about the Danish monsoon time and again, I feel it is only fair if I also show you a day when I just love living on my little peninsula. Yesterday was such a day. The sun was shining, the air crisp and clear and a lovely temperature to wrap it all up. After dinner I went for a walk, with camera ofcourse, and I felt so happy and lucky, it was just perfect.
