Growing together

This is an embroidery scribble I made after the celtic double cross. This painting is special for me because it has the symbol growing together on it. A symbol I didn't use on Soul Food, why not? Hmm!!!!

Well thank you all for stopping by this week, hope you enjoyed your stay at Landanna.

Have a fantastic weekend filled with all the goodies you wish for.

A textile painting

This painting I made for Anneli of Bockfilz.

This was also one of the embroidery scribbles I made some time ago.

When it was finished I kept it a few days before I sent it off to Austria, just fell in love with the deep red. Luckily Anneli also like her christmas-present.

Have a lovely day with presents that arrive on time.

The simple things

Christina, the beautiful soul of Aperture, gave us another opportunity to write a new list of the simple joys of life.  So I thought to give it a try.

A bowl of hot soup
Delicious vegetables
Fresh fruits
And a cup of hot tea
To take care of my every need.

A needle
A thread
A piece of cloth
My art-journal
To affirm my excistence.

Music
To dance to
To get a good work-out
And friends you share my delight.

A friend
A place of shelter

And a window without snow so I can see what is going on in the rest of the world.

Have a lovely day while writing your list.

Celtic painting

Today I want to show you a celtic painting. The embroidery is made in april for the blanket-project but this project don't seem to be happening. (Sorry Mary) Therefore I made a painting of it otherwise this piece is just laying around in a folder.

The last few weeks I have been making a number of these paintings and I am still working on a few. So there are more paintings to come.

Have a lovely monday.

A lucky girl again!!!

Last week I told you that I got lucky again in a give-away. This time it was the give-away of Beth of Tangled sky studio.

And this is my beautiful Full house. It is drop gorgeous, I am really happy with it.

Do you remember my coolest post ever. Now Beth also sent me a little card. On the card is a girl with wings and on her dress is the word Embrace. As far as I know Beth hasn't seen that post, so a little co-incidental encouragement. Beth, thank you such much for your generous gift, I enjoy and treasure it.

Now I am off to Blog camp, my suitcase is packed, my plane is waiting. If you want to know what we are doing up in the Blue room, visit us at the blog. On monday I will be back and probably have a lot to tell and show.

For now I wish you the best weekend with lots of creativity and laughter.

A lazy friday

Today there are three things I want like to share with you. This picture was made while we were at a much need walk during the christmas season. A lot of snow and the lake looked like totally frozen over. This place is about 5 minutes from our house and it gives the possibility to walk for hours a long side the water through the hills with the fields of the farmers. No matter what time of year I love to take a walk there.

Now on the first on January something special happend. No, I am not referring to the butterfly. Let me start at the beginning. On the 31th of December of last year I was visiting some blogs which I like and saw that Beth had a give away. So I entered because she is a very talented lady and I love her paintings. To my very big surprise I won. That meant a big party for one with a lot of music. (My husband came to see if everything was allright with me, LOL) I was and still am totally over the moon of joy. Why was it so very special to me? The title of the painting is Full House . This painting really adds a beautiful piece of the puzzle in the House or home-project. I am still thinking about that project and think about how to get to another level with it. So if you want to see it, click on Full House. And while you are at Beth's place look around and you will see why I like her work.

Now it is time to let you in on something totally different but very special that has brought a lot of joy to my ears this last week. I found it after listening to an interview. Two songs, the first one is by Bryan Adams singing the Sam Cooke song Good times. The second song is sung by Smokey Robinson  and Bryan Adams and is called  Bring it on home. Good music and a lot of joy while performing, what more can I ask for.

Hope you will have as much fun during your weekend as Smokey and Bryan had on stage and I had with this special find.

Enjoy!!!!

Two brooches

Today I want to show you two brooches I created during the christmas holiday. The first one I created for the give-away of Soul Food. The chosen symbol was the ropeladder. The meaning of the ropeladder is to help and remind us to climb up again. It took me some time to think of an object that would fit this symbol and the story of this person. I made it with the darkest blue felt, which stands for growth and pink, which stands for love.

The brooche is made in three layers because I wanted to put an extra reminder for the love of life in it. Now the story gets a little bit sad. Although she has no idea what I made for her she decided not to accept my gift. So this brooche is like a baby who awaits to be adopted.

The second brooche I made for myself as small reminder of my Soul Food project. So I felted three layers in the Soul Food colours and used the darkest blue felt for the back. I hope your not sick of me babbeling on about Soul Food, that project had such a large impact on me last year that it is hard not to think about it anymore.

This leaves me to wish you a day filled with wonder. Have a great day.

Finally

Finally, the first of the give-away gifts is at her destination. The package was sent before christmas but due to the christmas-post and the weather it took til yesterday to arrive. I already started to become nervous that it somehow had disappeared. So therefore a sigh of relief.

Tony of Dwelling here now choose the symbol synchronicity as his favorite symbol of the Soul Food project. For his symbol I chose a ready made painting canvas and embroidered straight on that. Never done that before, it sounds easy but it was more tricky to get these three shades of blue on the canvas in straight lines.

Tony, congratulations again on your win and thank you for all the compliments. I'm very happy my symbol found a new home.

I want to thank everybody who stopped by yesterday. As far as I recall I never had so many comments and emails about one post. Loved it.

Have a lovely day.

The coolest post ever

In the midst of winter with snow piled up, slippery roads and a temperature well below zero we had a miracle at our house. This beautiful creature showed up on the 31th of December to guide us into the new year.

This year I made a page in my journal for my new years resolutions. These three words are gonna be my guide through this year of the butterfly. Yes, that is the name of the year for me. Somehow I am very excited about this year. Lots of ideas and half decent plans. Lots to look forward to. The first very big thing I am looking forward to is blogcamp. The countdown has begun, only 10 days and than I will meet Kristina, B, Polly, Jelica, Bee, Spud and Julie with her famous blue room of course. Can hardly wait, feel like a little kid waiting for the time to open a present or do something very special.

2010, the journey started for me with the coolest picture ever in the midst of my Danish winter.

Have a fantastic day.

Saying goodbye

Today my final goodbye to 2009. It was a year of change, just like the bat predicted. I accepted the challenges, worked hard and created a new vision on life.

On the 27th of December I had my 25th anniversary of the heart. When I took stock of my life it left me with just one thing to say:"Thank you." The road was lonely, the road was hard. But during this journey through life I was never without a helping hand or ear and for that I am grateful. Now I am ready to forfill my new dreams, my new vision and take on new challenges.

But before I allow 2010 really to arrive at Landanna. I want to thank Anneli for her beautiful loving card and home/house quilt cushion.

Zuzana for her card filled with friendship and than there is Lisa. Lisa, thank you for everything.

Furthermore I want to thank everyone who helped me through my first year of blogging. Thank you for visiting. Thank you for your comments. Thank you for your help to find the right symbols. Thank you for all the inspiration you gave me. THANK YOU !!!!

To celebrate all of this I have chosen this sexy blues jam which will certainly will give you a spark of joy.

So 2010 here I am.
