Viking market V

Today a more peace minded theme: embroidery

There were so many embroidered pieces that was difficult to make a selection or I could say that I just went crazy with my camera. Hope you are still enjoying yourself.

This serie will continue during the weekend.

Have a fantastic day.

these are stunning and it's amazing what could be achieved in terms of colour with only natural dyes. We are very spoilt in the
21st century!

Oh gosh these are super! We have so few viking festivals here, but I only live about 2km from Sutton Hoo (google it!) which is a hugely significant site.

Gorgeous work. Lovely photos x

I can well understand that you didn't know where to look first, discovering all these wonderful, story-telling embroideries ... means a lot of 'food' for your imagination!

those embroidered curtains were in the "bedroom" the other time i was there. they were such an inspiring space, we're going to try to make something like it in the upstairs when we redo it all. :-) so much inspiration that market...did you buy any hand-dyed embroidery threads? from the lady in the middle of the first section of stalls (closest to the car park)? she had provided the naturally-dyed thread for the big tapestry they did that hangs over in the kro. if you didn't see it, you have to go back!
