Soul Food (part 30)

Today our journey continues and this is already the 30th post about this project. When I started Soul Food I had no idea it would take me this long but another mark has been crossed 2/3 of the project is done. I'm still very motivated and learning a lot while travelling.

After I made the symbol for my two children I thought my husband should also have his own symbol. He is a chemical engineer and therefore I took the chemical symbol Au which stands for gold.

The last symbol is another way to symbolize a conversation. Somehow the word conversation and the meaning of it has a cycle of returning to me. Feel like I'm not done with picking my mind to understand this process.

Tomorrow we continue our talk and I show you something different.

Have a lovely day while listening to whispers.

Lucky girl

Something wonderful happend on monday when I opened my e-mail. Julie sent me a note to let me know that I won the give-away from the blog of Julie en Kristina. Julie en Kristina are photographers who are bonding Danmark and Sweden together again through their blog, Across ├śresund. I was allowed to choose two pictures and yesterday they arrived. For me they are pure eyecandy, hope you enjoy them to.

Another creative week has gone by which I enjoyed with a lot of gratitude. Thank you for stopping by and for the comments. See you Monday, have a weekend filled with miracles big or small.

Soul Food (part 29)

Energy swirling around our heart. Energy of others who are trying to find the open door, energy of ourselves to protect our tender heart.

A symbol of grace and trust.

Have a lovely day.

Soul Food (part 28)

Today I show you my two feet. Feet are the mirrors of our being. For me they are one of the most interesting parts of our body. Seeing, touching and feeling the texture of feet is telling the story of our life. For some years I had my own practice as a reflexologist and still cherish the memories and the lessons brought to me by spending hours of looking and touching feet.

Or as Leonardo da Vinci said it:''The human foot is a masterpiece of engineering and a work of art''

Treat your feet with kindness and experience the wonder of relaxed feet.

Shell of shells

In the second post of Soul Food I showed you a shell I embroidered and which was inspired by a drawing and notes I had written some years back. Now this same shell-design has made a visit again and gave me this object.

Some detail pictures so you can see all those lovely tiny little houses with all the variation mother nature is bringing us.

And this is the shell of shells.

Enjoy your tuesday and the shells you will find today if you happen to be on the beach.

Soul Food (part 27)

This symbol stands for going round in circles, a feeling we all experienced at least once in our lives. Although we go around that doesn't mean we do exactly the same over and over again. For me it is just that I didn't get to see the total picture and therefore the total lesson learned.

A symbol of protection from the Tuareg.

Have a lovely day filled with experiences and sunshine.

Friday night special

Something different today. It is warm and sunny here in Danmark for the last few days. So I thought let's share some images of a walk we made during the holidays on Fyns Hoved.

The pictures are taken by my husband because I'm way to busy with looking around, picking up small stuff and holding an eye to the kids.

Before I wish you a great weekend click here. Why? Than you hear a fantastic song by Alvin Lee called Bluest Blues.

Have a fabulous weekend filled with friends and creativity. See you monday.

A visit

Last weekend we had a surprise. On friday afternoon the doorbell rang, I opened the door and two friends from the Netherlands were on our doorstep. It was a wonderful surprise and we had a fantastic weekend although there were no fish caught.

My girlfriend wanted to learn how to make a Pinky. So after thirty years she picked up her needle again and I showed her how to do it. This is the result of a wonderful afternoon with a pot of tea, some yarn, a needle and great conversation. She made her own Pinky and I made the other two.

Some fish after all.

Thank you all for visiting this week and for the lovely comments which are so inspiring to read. Have a fabulous weekend, maybe with something unexpected.

Soul Food (part 26)

These lovely french knots are the seeds I sow. Every idea, thought or response can be a seed for something new, exciting or beautiful.

Today I want to remind myself to keep my peace of mind. Peace is written in Japanse, correctly I hope. Since this trip I'm more interested in the Japanese cultur. This trip (the seed) is a very clear example on how I'm being influenced in an unexpected way.

Have a peaceful day.

Soul Food (part 25)

This symbol is about balancing your life with love, which is not always that easy do but worth the effort to try.

This radio represents a special, personal period in my life and the strong feeling I have for music.

That's all for today, need to keep on working on my list.

Have a fabulous day.

Soul Food (part 24)

Last night I reached a new milestone in my Soul Food project. This means that you have a better overview on how large this piece is. At earlier photo's you already could see how width this cloth is, now you can also see the length. There are 101 blocks left which means that some time next week 2/3 will be done. If everything goes according to plan Soul Food will be finished in October.

Now it is back to work for me because my to do list of yesterday isn't finished yet.

Have a sunny day filled with lovely work.

Soul Food (part 23)

A new week with a large to do list. First I'm gonna write about my two symbols of today. The first symbol is the symbol of the small pebble thrown into the water. More and more I see the affect of a very small decision/action on my part and the consequences it has in my life. This is the reminder of it.

This is one pebble which is thrown already some time ago. The initial action was reading the interview of Jim Houser in Fecalface. The result so far is my first painting: Cool Blues and this project Soul Food. Can you trace back your own pebbles? What was the effect of it?

So my favorite task is done, now the rest. Have a great day.

Soul Food (part 22)

This symbol is a symbol that has a large impact on my everyday life. The symbol stands for no gluten, as you know I'm not allowed to eat them. I will give you an example of the impact. We were on holiday with a tent, which means no chance to bake bread. We took our homebaked bread and cake with us but it's impossible to take so much with you that it lasts for three weeks. So after about week we (my son and I) had to start with ricecrackers. Of course there is bread available that is packed, etc. that it will stay in 'good' shape for a year. But that is not really my idea of yummy. So I lost a few pounds, not that it was neccesary, my weight now is 54 kg. But these pounds will be gained back easily because I can't stay out of the kitchen at the moment.

This is a fun symbol. I wanted to included my two sons in Soul Food because having children is changing you forever. My first thought was flowers, but that felt boring to me. So children stayed on my list without a symbol. During the first weeks of their schoolholiday they started some computergame with puffles. They couldn't and still can't stop talking about these little creatures. So here are my two puffles which I love so dearly.

Hope you enjoyed the return to Soul Food as much as I do. It is wonderful to be stitching again.

Have a great weekend with lots of sunshine and I'll see you monday.

Soul Food (part 21)

This is my cowboyhead, the meaning well for me it stands for personal freedom.

With this symbol I wanted to express that I like the shoes am walking in. Just the way my life is unfolding it's self. Somehow my shoes became a boot. I have crocheted a small a embellishment on it which was great fun to do.

That leaves me to wish you a fantastic day and I'll see you tomorrow.
